Kelvin was born and raised in Surabaya, Indonesia. At a very young age, he already showed his passion for music. He started learning drum set at age six and he also learned the piano not too long after. After a few years he stopped taking piano lessons and mainly focused on drums.

His first experience playing in front of people was in his Sunday school when he was still in elementary school. In his third year of junior high, he won his first trophy in a band competition and continued to play until now.

​

In 2018, he graduated from Berklee College of Music majoring in Jazz Composition. The year after, he released his first album as a leader titled "Vivid Imagery", and after working and staying in Boston and New York for a year each, he went back to Indonesia in 2020 and is currently based in Bali.
